Good Morning Delmarva discusses the joining of Atlantic General Hospital and TidalHealth

WMDT – TidalHealth and Atlantic General Hospital are coming together to bring more access and innovation to the Delmarva area.

This morning, Steve Leonard, the president and CEO of TidalHealth, and Don Owrey, the president of Atlantic General Hospital, stopped by to discuss the two health systems’ partnership.

Owrey tells us expanding access is a big priority for both organizations, as the community that needs their services is growing.

They are taking a unified approach that can propel them to the next level in healthcare.

Leonard says that they look forward to making it easier for both the patient and staff.

We’re told that attracting physicians to the area has been a challenge, and this alignment will offer a broader range of services.

For the next few months, they will be working on integrating and coordinating services.

They stress that it will take time, but they are eagerly anticipating the introduction of electronic health care records in March.
