Good Morning Delmarva discusses DJ Alliance’s Shoe Drive and Fundraiser

WMDT – DJ’s Alliance Youth Council is hosting a shoe drive fundraiser to support the survivors of suicide loss with resources and community.

This Morning, Alexa Cruz-Hackett, the Youth Council Co-Chair, and her mother Heather Cruz-Hackett stopped by to tell us how your gently used shoes can help.

We’re told Alexa has been a part of the suicide loss community since she lost her dad at a very young age.

Her mother says that there is a lack of resources for those dealing with suicide loss so it’s very important that they try and help others.

Alexa tells us there’s a lot of countries where people are do not have proper footwear or clothes, so through their shoe drive, they will be collecting gently used shoes for people in need.

The drive will run through the month of June and they are also planning a Good Grief Comedy Show Fundraiser for June 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford Senior High School.
