Georgia man pleads guilty to prostitution in Del.
DOVER, Del. – A Georgia man has pleaded guilty to transportation for prostitution in Delaware.
According to statements made in court, the investigation into 48-year-old Robert Sloan began in July 2023 after 911 received a call from someone who allegedly received text messages from a family member that indicated they were being trafficked for prostitution at a hotel in Dover. Law enforcement responded to the hotel for a welfare check, at which time Sloan answered the door, and police saw two women inside. Sloan told officers that he did not know anyone with the victim’s name, one of the women identified herself as the victim once she was away from Sloan.
Further investigation revealed that Sloan drove the victim from North Carolina to Delaware and had her engage in prostitution multiple times during stops along the way.
Sloan faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
