ELLENDALE, Del. – A Georgetown woman has been charged after she allegedly drove toward a correctional officer last week.

Shortly before 9 a.m. Friday, troopers were called to Reynolds Pond Road in Ellendale for a report of reckless endangering, learning that a woman driving a black Pontiac G6 drove toward a correctional officer while he was supervising a work crew from the Sussex Community Corrections Center. It was further learned that the suspect had been told to leave the area after she was seen talking to the offenders while they were working. She left but returned a short time later, argued with the officer, and drove toward the officer, nearly hitting him.

Police were able to identify the suspect as 26-year-old Inessa Bagwell, who was arrested on Monday and charged with first degree reckless endangering and disorderly conduct when refusing to disperse. She was later released on her own recognizance.
