First State Educate says Delaware school board elections were a success

DELAWARE. – School board elections happened all over the state this week. Last year, roughly 5,000 voters cast their ballots statewide, and this year, that number increased to 16,000.

The elections give Delawareans a chance to shape the future of local education. Officials at First State Educate said it’s about community engagement.

“The work of staying engaged with the school boards begins now and carries through to next May. Anyone interested, we recommend they reach out, because there is definitely a leadership role to play,” said Julia Keleher.

First State Educate will have on-boarding training for people elected on various school boards.
