Early morning shooting injures Dover man

DOVER, Del. – One person is in the hospital following an early morning shooting in Dover.

According to police, the incident took place shortly before 3:30 a.m. in the unit block of Stevenson Drive. Officers arrived at the scene to find a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment.

Preliminary investigation determined that the victim was standing outside in the unit block of Stevenson Drive when an unknown suspect shot him once and fled.
