Early morning crash claims life of Millsboro man

ANGOLA, Del. – Delaware State Police say a crash early Friday morning claimed the life of a Millsboro man.

Shortly before 6 a.m., police say a Nissan Sentra was driving southbound on Hollymount Road, north of John J. Williams Highway. At the same time, two commercial flatbed trailers were parked northbound, partially in the northbound shoulder and partially in the grass, with orange reflective traffic cones placed alongside them. For reasons still under investigation, the Sentra reportedly left the southbound travel lane and into the northbound shoulder, where it hit one of the trailers. The impact pushed the first trailer into the second trailer.

The driver, a 48-year-old Millsboro man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
