DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. – The Dorchester County Government has finalized the 2026 Fiscal Year budget.
There were talks about removing the tax differential in Hurlock and Cambridge to make ends meet. Officials found alternative solutions to balance the budget.
The council decided to increase property tax by 3 cents.

“We have passed the budget bill, which gives us a balanced budget for this year. But we are worried that next year, the predictions are revenues and expenses will all change for the worse.”
