Crisfield Police holding bike rodeo

CRISFIELD, Md. – Calling all young bicyclists. The Crisfield Police Department is holding a bike rodeo later this month.

The bicycle safety and skills course is set to take over Somers Cove Marina.

It will also come with the ability to register your bicycle with the police department.

Free hot dogs and chips will be provided as well as a chance to win a free bicycle.

The event is recommended for kids ages 5-12.

“We’re promoting and encouraging healthy activities with the kids in our community and we have a lot of kids that ride bicycles through our community and we want to take this opportunity to show them basic bicycle skills, how to stay safe, how to properly cross the roadway, how to properly mount, dismount a bicycle,” said Crisfield Police Chief Eric Lee.

The bike rodeo will take place Saturday, May 17 from 10 am to 3 pm at 715 Broadway Avenue.
