Community Bank Delaware holds ribbon cutting in new Nylon Capital Shopping Center location

SEAFORD, Del. – The Community Bank Delaware held a ribbon cutting for its Seaford branch earlier today.

It’s the next step in the revitalization of the Nylon Capital Shopping Center.

“These are moments that we dreamed about in revamping this project and now it’s here, and I could not be more happy for our council and community to be a part of it,” said Seaford Mayor Matt MacCoy.

The first of many ribbon cuttings for the Nylon Capital Shopping Center took place Wednesday. Leaders unveiling the new Community Bank Delaware of Seaford.

“Getting Jack Riddle and his team of Community Bank here in Seaford is a really big deal,” said MacCoy. “Jack began his career in Seaford, it’s kind of a full circle moment for him, so we’re very excited this is the first tenant, as a new tenant here in the new Nylon Project and we couldn’t be more excited for him.”

The branch is just one of the new businesses and buildings coming to the once forgotten shopping center.

“The biggest thing is the site work, so that’s going to be next, so you’re seeing a lot of site work in the back, so tons of heavy construction going on, that’s the road work, the landscaping, we have some pickleball coming which was referenced today as an outdoor public amenity,” said Robert Herrera of 9th Street Development Company. “We have an outdoor beer garden getting built that’s just an outdoor space the community can congregate.”

Among some of the future facilities – Del Tech Community College, Tidal Health and an innovation hub dubbed The Mill.

Delaware Governor Matt Meyer even stopped by for the ribbon cutting saying it’s a significant day in Seaford.

“The community, the county, the state, we’re here together saying that there is now a rebirth of this shopping center and there’s a rebirth of the Seaford community,” said Gov. Meyer.

Developers say there will be a flurry of openings at the end of this year and into next.
