Caroline Co. duplex fire under investigation
GREENSBORO, Md. – An investigation is underway following a duplex fire in Caroline County Saturday morning.
Crews were called to 113 Mill Street in Greensboro at around 9:15 a.m. for a reported structure fire involving a duplex with two units. The sole occupant of one of the units was able to escape off of the roof with the help of a neighbor with a ladder. That occupant was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The three occupants of the second unit were alerted of the fire by the other occupant and were able to get out uninjured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Total damage has been estimated at $170,000.
