Blood Bank of Delmarva holding blood drives in honor of EMS Week

SUSSEX CO., Del. – In honor of the 50th anniversary of National EMS Week, the Blood Bank of Delmarva is teaming up with first responders and medical professionals to host a series of blood drives.

The drives are also aiming to help shore up the blood supply during trauma season.

Two are happening in our area – including one at the Seaford Volunteer Fire Company.

That’s on May 23rd from 12 to 6 pm.

Another one is happening at Sussex County EMS in Georgetown May 30th from 8 am to 3 pm.

“It’s a chance to not only recognize the life-saving vital work that EMS providers are doing in the community, but it’s also a chance to highlight our need for blood,” said Tony Prado, Communications Specialist at Blood Bank of Delmarva.

To make an appointment, donors can visit delmarvablood.org.
