Wicomico Co. Health Department encourages proper disposal of prescription drugs during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
WICOMICO CO., Md. – National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is this Saturdya, April 26th, and the Wicomico County Health Department is encouraging residents to get rid of leftover medications by disposing of them in secure receptacles.
There are a number of Prescription Drop Box locations throughout Wicomico County, including:
- Delmar Police (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- NOT open April 26th
- Fruitland Police (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
- NOT open April 26th
- Salisbury Police (24/7)
- Maryland State Police Salisbury (24/7)
- Takes needles
- Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- NOT open April 26th
- TidalHealth Emergency Department (24/7)
Personal information should be removed from the original container before it is dropped off at one of the sites. Prescription drugs, over the counter medications, vitamins, and pet medications are accepted. No liquids, needles, thermometers, or biohazard materials. The only drop box that takes needles is the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack.
