University of Maryland Eastern Shore hosted symposium
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore hosted a symposium on how they impact the community. The event showcased the research UMES students have or will be conducting.
Presenters delivered oral and poster presentations, with winners eligible to receive cash. Dr. LaKeisha Harris – the Dean of Graduate Studies – said she’s proud of how much the event has grown.
“Science, engineering, technology, and aviation. It started as a small symposium, where we got together to talk about basic research ideas, to where we are now 14 years later with over 300 people registered.”
Organizers are hoping the public will attend the event next year to garner even more community support.
