U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester announces new nursing workforce bill

 

DELAWARE. – U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester hosted a round-table to discuss investing efforts to support Delaware’s nursing workforce. One of her first initiative bill is the National Nursing Workforce Center Act.

The legislation seeks to combat the nursing shortage by increasing collaboration between the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the 49 state nursing workforce centers. The Senator announced the bill at today’s round-table discussion.

“We know that the number of licensed nurses in Delaware has grown over the years, but the fact remains that we still need more.”

The hope for the bill is to equip communities with the tailored resources, education, and training they need to recruit and retain nurses.
