Two injured in early morning Georgetown assault
GEORGETOWN, Del. – An early morning assault in Georgetown left two injured, according to Delaware State Police.
Just before 5 a.m., troopers were called to the 27000 block of Paradise Street for a reported assault. It was learned that an unknown man was reportedly entering unlocked vehicles in the neighborhood when three residents confronted him. The suspect then assaulted two of the residents with a broken bottle, and they chased the suspect to a van parked nearby. The victims tried to restrain him, but he was able to flee in the van.
One of the victims, a 39-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim, a 34-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
The suspect is described as an unknown man, approximately 5’10”, last seen wearing dark clothing and white Nike sneakers. He was driving an unknown white Chevrolet van that fled eastbound on Homestead Road.
