The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is helping U.S Veterans in need
MARION STATION, Md.- The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project Gives Back to U.S. Military Veterans. Wednesday, one local U.S. Army Veteran, Catherine Jackson, was given a new roof and new hope.
This was in conjunction with Precision Exteriors and Wicomico County’s Habitat for Humanity, who helped with the development. Nathan Whitaker of Precision Exteriors said these types of projects help the community.
“Precision Exteriors, we started for the sole purpose of solving homeowners’ problems, and part of that is helping veterans and people who can’t help themselves.”
The Owens Corning project has provided over 650 military members with new roofing. Wicomico County’s Habitat for Humanity helped make the project happen. Christina Williams, the Director of Development, said the group loves pouring back into the community.
“We are fortunate to have partners with Owens Corning, and with Precision Exteriors, who’s an amazing support of us, to come out and complete a roof for a veteran in need.”
Jackson filled out the application on the Habitat for Humanity website.
However, she was at work while construction was underway, but Williams was positive Jackson would be happy with how the roof turned out.
“They’ve probably been thinking, I’ve got to take off that roof, but unfortunately a lot of times those funds aren’t there. So having the experience of driving in your driveway and going this is done, is a great thing.”
