SU students bringing colorful mural to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – This weekend is your chance to add a little bit of color to the city.

Students from Salisbury University are teaming up with the city to paint a mural at the Newton Community Center.

The new addition is meant to enhance the center’s outdoor environment and encourage children who are crossing the street to do so safely.

SU student, Kailah Caliskan said this project has been a couple of years in the making, and she and other volunteers are excited to finally see it come to fruition.

“We were thinking about it, we thought about it for probably a day, and then we were like, ‘Let’s do it, guys!’ So, we picked it up from a past project and then we went into the community, and they still really wanted that mural there,” said Caliskan.

Join in this Saturday, from 12-5 at the Community Center. Volunteers will give you a designated area to paint.
