SBY Marathon gets underway Saturday

SALISBURY, Md. – The 7th Annual SBY Marathon gets underway this Saturday.

Runners can pick up their packets Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Civic Center or 2 to 8 pm on Friday.

The Downtown Plaza will be closed to thru traffic Friday after 1 pm and on Saturday starting at 7 am, Riverside Drive will be closed to outgoing traffic.

Run SBY Race Director Jason Chance said there will be a new location for this year’s after party.

“The biggest thing we are bringing this year that’s different is we’re bringing our after party down here to Unity Square, so we’re going to have our stage, we’re going to have kids from AMP Studios down here and we’re going to have more of a party kind of family atmosphere down on this end,” said Chance.

The SBY Marathon and Half Marathon kicks off 7 am Saturday.

The 5k starts at 7:30 am.
