Parkside girl’s lacrosse takes down Cambridge-SD at home
SALISBURY, Md. – Parkside girl’s lacrosse beat Cambridge-South Dorchester 18-9 in Salisbury on Thursday afternoon.
The Rams built a lead early, up 6-2 after the first quarter. They continued to pull away for much of the game, leading 11-5 at half and 17-6 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Vikings outscored the rams 3-1 in the final period but couldn’t overcome the 11-goal deficit.
The rams were led offensively by Olivia Batie with six goal along with Sophia Sarbanes and Avery Donoway who each tallied four.
After the game, Head Coach Sydney Langeler said, “I thought they were pushing to the goal a lot better than they normally do. Sometimes we slow down to our detriment to control the clock, and then they get a little shy about going to the cage, so I was grateful that they were going to the goal and pushing the ball to the net…I think they’re on an upward trajectory, I think that we have a lot of younger players on this team, but we do have a good group of seniors leading them.”
