New lane closures in Milton Delaware

Milton Del.- The Delaware Department of Transportation announces there will be new lane closures on SR 1 and SR 16 starting on Thursday, May 1.

SR 1 motorists can expect nighttime lane closures Monday through Thursday 7:00pm to 7:00am.  In addition, nighttime lane closures on SR 1 are permitted Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00pm to 8:00am.

SR 16 motorists can expect daytime lane closures Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm.  In addition, nighttime lane closures on SR 16 are permitted Monday through Friday 6:00pm to 7:00am and Saturday and Sunday 9:00pm to 9:00am.

These lane closure hours will continue through September 30. Motorist can expect this current traffic pattern to continue until late fall 2025.

The Contractor continues to work on the SR 1 northbound roadway, embankment, and bridge.  This project is anticipated to be complete in early 2026.
