Milford crash claims life of 78-year-old woman

MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian Thursday evening.

Shortly after 8 p.m., police say a black Honda Accord was driving northbound on North DuPont Boulevard in the area of North Street Extended. For unknown reasons, a 78-year-old woman reportedly walked into the right travel lane and was subsequently hit by the Honda.

The pedestrian, identified as 78-year-old Martha Burnham of Felton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 30-year-old driver of the Honda was not injured.
