Locals protest Pres. Donald Trump Administration

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Members of the Democratic Party of Worcester County are displeased with the current state of the nation, hosting their sixth demonstration since President Donald Trump took office in January.

Protester Chris Seymour, a former state park ranger, said he’s using his voice to draw attention to the federal funding cuts that the National Park Service is facing.

“As a ranger at Assateague, I used to do programs and talks with crowds of up to 400 people, doing the New Years Day Walk,” said Seymour. “I have a bit of a voice that’s good for projecting, so I will be one of the lead people doing the chants.”

“This is what democracy looks like” is one of those chants that Toby Perkins said they decided would be fitting for the Demonstration.

Perkins has been on the frontlines of many marches the organization has held, but this one, he hopes, catches the attention of his fellow community members, and representatives in Washington.

“I’m glad, today, that the Democratic Party of Worcester County is taking this position, because nationwide, the Democratic Party has not been strong enough in its opposition to Trump and the Trump Administration,” said Perkins.
