Kent Co. firefighter charged with theft
LEIPSIC, Del. – A Kent County firefighter has been charged with felony theft and unlawful use of a credit card stemming from an investigation that began earlier this month.
On April 19th, police were called to Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company for a reported theft. Troopers met with fire company officials, who reported discovering over $3,600 in unauthorized charges on a fire company credit card. It was learned through the investigation that a member of the fire company, identified as 30-year-old Raheim Clifton, obtained the credit card and used it for personal expenses.
Clifton turned himself in to Troop 3 on Sunday, where he was charged with theft $1500 or more, unlawful use of a payment card over $1500, and two counts of unlawful use of a payment card under $1500. He was released on his own recognizance and is no longer a member of the Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company.
