Good Morning Delmarva discusses UMES annual 5k for Epilepsy
WMDT – on Saturday, May 3rd, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Pharmacy Student Government Association will host its 12th annual 5K Strides for Epilepsy.
It’s a fundraiser to support research to find a cure.
Tierra Williams sat down with Muhanad Elhussein and Sarah Lewis of PSGA, to learn more.
We’re told epilepsy is a seizure disorder that affects millions of people around the world.
It can be hard for people to live their day-to-day life not knowing if they will have a seizure.
It could be something that could prevent them from holding a job or just being able to enjoy time with friends.
You can also develop social anxiety as it can impact your speech and lead to sleep disorders.
The 5k is an opportunity for the community to come together and learn more about epilepsy.
The event starts at 10 a.m. and costs 20 dollars per person.
A t-shirt is included in your purchase and the top 3 finishers win medals!
