Felton man arrested for abuse of two minors

FELTON, Del. – A Felton man has been arrested on child abuse charges stemming from a month-long investigation.

On March 6th, Felton Police were called to the 400 block of South Erin Avenue for a complaint of child abuse. It was learned that the suspect, 50-year-old Walter Gooding, physically abused two minor children. The minors were allegedly punched, hit with a belt, and smacked numerous times, and were forced to do strenuous exercises for extended periods of time.

Due to the abuse, the minors were admitted to AI Dupont Children’s Hospital for several days.

Gooding turned himself in on Thursday and was charged with two counts of second degree child abuse before being released on a $10,000 unsecured bail.
