Dover woman arrested for DUI, reckless endangerment

Linzy Best

SEAFORD, Del. – A Dover woman is behind bars on DUI and other charges following an incident in Seaford Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m., troopers were called to the 24000 block of Chapel Branch Road for a report of a car driving through a field. When troopers arrived, it was learned that a black Chevrolet Camaro was driving recklessly in a field behind a residence. Police say three people, including two children, were walking in the field at the time and were almost hit by the car. The victims ran to safety at their residence when they were almost hit again.

The driver of the Camaro, later identified as 32-year-old Linzy Best, allegedly fled from the car after the adult victim took the keys from her. Troopers found her a short time later in a nearby shed, observing multiple signs of impairment. She was eventually taken into custody after resisting arrest.

Best was subsequently charged with three counts of first degree reckless endangerment, DUI, resisting arrest, third degree criminal trespass, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, driving while suspended/revoked, and multiple traffic offenses. She was held at SCI on a $36,300 cash bond.
