Community Easter egg hunt coming to Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. — Local organizations in Seaford are coming together to host a community Easter egg hunt on Saturday at the Jay’s Nest, featuring more than 20,000 eggs and a variety of family-friendly activities.

The event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., is free and open to children of all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own baskets for egg collection.

In addition to the hunt, the celebration will include a kickball tournament, a bike giveaway, face painting, vendors, and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny.

“We decided to do this because there are many kids in different communities who don’t have the option to go out and do things,” said event organizer Karen Upshur. “A lot of parents aren’t making that kind of money or aren’t able to give their kids things. At this event, we give out bicycles, gift cards, and other prizes.”

Organizers are also planning a back-to-school book bag giveaway on Aug. 23.
