Clippers baseball tops Wi-Hi with 6th inning explosion

SALISBURY, Md.- James M. Bennett boy’s baseball dominated Wicomico 10-2, Tuesday evening in Salisbury.

Top 1: James Bennett’s Cory Fisher scores.

Bottom 1: Ayden George hits a sacrifice fly to bring home Noah Riggin, score tied at 1 after the first inning.

Top 2: The Clippers get two runs with a RBI from Cooper Witt scoring Logan Chatham, and Caden McKinney coming home on a wild pitch. Clippers lead 3-1.

Bottom 4: Landon Roache get an RBI bringing Cam Webster home, the Tribe trail 3-2.

Top 6: The Clippers turned it up with 7 runs from Kaden Jacoby Sample, Fisher, Carson Bennett, Blake Bunting, Jordan Dillard, and Trevin Whitlock.

After the the top of the 6th their were no other runs as the Clippers took down the Tribe. Head Coach Chad Whittington had this to say on the win against WiHi:

“It took us a while to get started.We had a real tough loss yesterday against Parkside, a 1-0 heartbreaker. So it took us about five innings to wake up. But they’re resilient. They found their energy finally started putting the bat on the ball, getting some things going on the base path. So kudos to them. It was a hard fought game, both sides.”

James M. Bennett improves to 3-2 on the early season.
