City of Salisbury to dedicate Downtown roundabout to late local leader

SALISBURY, Md. – The city is dedicating the Downtown roundabout to a beloved community member we lost two years ago.

On Monday, the circle will be named after Greg Bassett. Bassett was a local leader, journalist and prominent figure in the community.

Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor said the renaming of the Downtown circle will help carry on his legacy, and spark conversations about all he’s done in the city.

“Greg was a staple in the media area. He was with the newspaper and then later with PAC14,” said Mayor Taylor. “His daughter and my daughter, we grew up together, so we knew each other.”

“Greg was a great guy and was committed to his craft and we’re glad we’re able to do something that everybody will see on a daily basis,” Mayor Taylor added.

The unveiling will take place from 2-3pm.
