Caroline Co. man sentenced to 50 years for sexually abusing minor

WICOMICO CO., Md. – A Greensboro man has been sentenced to five decades for sexually abusing a minor.

38-year-old Enemias Perez was sentenced last week to 25 years of active incarceration, the maximum sentence allowed by law for the crime. The sentence was run consecutively to a 25 year active sentence Perez received in Caroline County for sexually abusing the same minor.

Investigation revealed that for several years, Perez sexually abused a minor child under the age of 9. Perez lived in Caroline County, which is where the majority of the sexual abuse took place. It was also learned that an incident of sexual abuse also occurred at a Wicomico County residence.

Perez pleaded guilty in January. Because the sentences are for violent crimes, he will not be eligible for parole until he serves half of his sentence, and should he be released, he will be subject to lifetime sexual offender supervision and will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender for life.
