Braven and Delaware State University has partnership to promote career readiness
DOVER, Del. – Braven and Delaware State University are teaming up to promote career readiness. The partnership looks to help students graduate with the skills and network needed to secure economic opportunities in the workforce.
‘Braven Delaware’ released a job report for the students involved. It said students outpaced their peers in both graduation and job attainment.
Executive Director Kia Williams for ‘Braven Delaware’, said it’s all about making positive impacts. “That’s sort of that systemic impact, where we are strengthening the readiness, adding a layer to the other support they are getting through their amazing universities. And as a result, we see they are launching into those stronger opportunities.”
84% of students involved are employed or in graduate school within six months. and 56% of DSU students have secured at least one career-accelerating opportunity, surpassing national benchmarks.
Williams anticipates Braven will continue to bridge the gap. “That’s really where we see our self-rebuilding the middle class and helping revitalize the American dream. And there is so much data with HBCUs that show they have revitalized and strengthened the middle class of Black Americans.”
It’s reported that Braven fellows are earning, on average, nearly $8,000 more than other recent graduates with full-time jobs.
