‘3Some Auto Salvage has structure fire in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – There was a fire at ‘3 Some Auto Salvage.’ According to the State Fire Marshal; the incident took place at 5137 Cordtown Road. It started in the garage bay because of the dismantling of a junk automobile based on a preliminary investigation.
There was $100,000 worth of property inside the facility and $80,000 in structural loss. The State Chief Marshal, Matt Stevens, described how it happened. “An employee was stripping a junk car, and draining fluids out of the car. In the process of draining these fluids, a fire started in the underside of the vehicle.”
Stevens said the fire was accidental. “We’re not suspecting foul play in this fire, everything we looked into yesterday points to this employee using an electric drill to drain the fuel tank of the vehicle.”
The investigation is still ongoing.
