Women Supporting Women needs the community’s help
DELMARVA – In honor of Women’s History Month, one local organization is urging women to check up on their health, and they are asking the public to lend a helping hand.
Women Supporting Women, started in 1993 by three local women, Harriette Fine, Carol Prager, and Sue Revelle. Some of their services include prosthetic breast fittings, wigs, educational tote bags, lift chair loaner program, and community related events to educate the public, and they are all free.
Event Coordinator Andie Huss says they have 2 fundraisers coming up, and without them, there would be no way to support these women. “We are not affiliated with any national organization, so we receive no funding. So, we have to do these events in order to keep all of our services free to anybody that’s been affected by breast cancer.”
