Wicomico County considering alcohol licensing fees at festivals
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico County could make changes to the sale of alcohol at festivals and events. Senate Bill 798, would allow temporary to go containers for alcoholic beverages.
Customers would be permitted to take beverage cups to different vendors at the venue. This would be authorized through a licensing system by the festival or event.
Maryland State Senator Johnny Mautz (District 37) supports the idea, believing it will increase flexibility for vendors and customers.
“This license would enable the event to allow for an approved cup that could be utilized. If you buy a beverage at one vendor, you could walk to another vendor and try a different beverage at a different vendor.”
The bill has passed through the Senate chamber and now heads to the House.
