Wanted Frankford shooting suspect arrested

FRANKFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection to last month’s shooting that left one critically injured in Frankford.

The incident happened at around 1 p.m. on February 2nd, in the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road. Troopers learned that the victim, a 41-year-old man, had been shot and was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Further investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had gotten into an argument at a residence when the suspect allegedly shot the victim and fled the scene. The suspect was eventually identified as 18-year-old Kelvin Wescott, who was arrested in Millsboro on Friday.

He was subsequently held at SCI on an over $1 million cash bond after being charged with attempted first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited adjudicated delinquent, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
