Upcoming summit to spotlight local women
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – With March being Women’s History Month, one local leader is shining a spotlight on other women in the community.
The Wicomico Commission for Women is looking to showcase the contributions of locals with an award.
This is the second year an award will be given out to a nominee, and commissioner member Megan Outten said it’s a great way to highlight women doing big things for the county.
“A lot of them are moving our community forward, but usually they’re not the ones you see in the spotlight; they’re not the ones you see in front of the camera,” said Outten. “We thought that this month in particular, with it being Women’s History Month, this is absolutely the time to highlight the women that are going above and beyond for our communities.”
The award will be handed out at the Celebrez La Femme Summit on March 22nd at Salisbury University.
