UMES bests Delaware State in conference opener
SALISBURY, Md.- UMES got a shutout over Delaware State in their Conference opener 7-0, Friday afternoon in Salisbury.
The scoring began in the 6th inning when Johnathan Gonzalez of UMES hit a sacrifice fly ball, bringing home Ansel Carson.
In the 8th inning Diego Aponte and Ryan Davis both scored on wild pitches.
Jason Brown and Joshua Caldwell both walked with the bases loaded bringing Danny Sadler home twice.
Andrew Carson hit a sacrifice fly allowing Quentin Smith to score.
Jonah Stepner would pitch a game shutout on the mound.
UMES will play Delaware State again Saturday at 1pm.
