Two Dorchester County men arrested for arson
DORCHESTER COUNTY, Md. — Two men were arrested Tuesday on charges of arson after investigators linked them to a fire set in early March at a duck blind in Hoopersville. 43-year-old Paul Ellwood and 46-year-old Edwin Krell were charged with second-degree arson, conspiracy to commit arson, and related offenses.
The fire, which caused $2,000 in damages, was reported at Bluff Point on Hoopers Island. Responding firefighters contained the blaze, which had spread to nearby marshland.
Ellwood and Krell were arrested on Smithville Road in Taylor’s Island and later released on $5,000 bond. If convicted, they face up to 44 years in prison and fines totaling $51,000.
