EASTON, Md. – Easton Police have arrested a Texas man on multiple rape and sex offense charges.

In June 2024, detectives met with a woman, who reported that when she was working for the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, she was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions by a traveling cardiologist, identified as 43-year-old Dr. Aman Patel. It is alleged that Patel would sometimes kiss the victim without her consent, which escalated to Patel reportedly touching her inappropriately without her consent.

Detectives then met with a second victim, who also claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Dr. Patel on several occasions while working at the hospital. She claimed that in the spring of 2024, Dr. Patel started by kissing her and pulling her hair without her consent. He also allegedly would touch her inappropriately and, on one occasion, forced her to perform oral sex.

A third victim reported to police that she was working for the hospital when Dr. Patel forcibly kissed and grabbed her butt. He also allegedly showed her his genitals.

While the investigation was ongoing, detectives learned that Dr. Patel had a hearing with the State of Maryland’s Board of Physicians due to the allegations. Dr. Patel reportedly admitted to having sexual contact with other female staff who had not reported the incidents to law enforcement. It was also learned that he made numerous inconsistent statements during the investigation. It was determined that Dr. Patel lives in the state of Texas and travels to various states for employment contracts. Due to this administrative investigation, Patel’s medical license was suspended in Maryland, and since then, multiple states have reportedly also suspended his medical license based on Maryland’s decision.

Further investigation revealed that Dr. Patel’s primary residence in Texas was for sale on December 3, 2024, and as of February 28th, it was listed as “pending” sale. On March 3rd, Easton Police requested assistance from the Keller Police Department in Texas, and Patel was subsequently taken into custody.

Patel has been charged with first and second degree rape, eight counts of fourth degree sex offense, six counts of second degree assault, two counts of false imprisonment, and three counts of harassment.

Detectives believe there are additional victims or witnesses who have not come forward. Easton Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim or who has additional information to come forward and help in this investigation.
