The Chesapeake Bay Trust wants you to donate to help restore the bay as you file your taxes
MARYLAND. – It’s tax season, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust wants you to donate while you figure out finances. The money would go into the ‘Chesapeake Bay Endangered Species Fund,’ created to support bay restoration and educate Marylanders on threatened species.
You can make a tax-deductible contribution when filing. You can look for it on line 35 if filing on your own.
Chesapeake Bay Trust President, Dr. Jana Davis, said the group uses the donated dollars to empower wildlife habitat restoration and ecosystem conservation.
“It helps our mental health, our physical health, and all kinds of benefits. The economy and tourism are important, and we like to keep those places clean, accessible, and healthy so that we can all enjoy them and empower our economy.”
Last year, 20,000 individuals and families contributed to the fund. That resulted in $850,000 donated.
