Snow Hill beats Mardela to advance to 1A regional finals

SNOW HILL, Md.- Eagles beat the Warriors and advance in the MPSSAA 1A tournament Tuesday evening in Snow Hill.

Despite a slow start in the first quarter, Mardela would shot their way back into the game by half time, trailing Snow Hill 33-26.

The Eagles didn’t let the Warriors get too comfy in the nest, though. In the third quarter Snow Hill dropped 20 points compared to Mardela’s 16. In the fourth quarter, Mardela was able to outscore Snow Hill but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Eagles’ lead, as Snow Hill went on to win 70-58.

Keandre Nixon lead his team with 19 points in the game with teammate Kam Lucas trailing by three with 16. Nixon Had this to say able his performance and facing Cambridge next:

“I played good but I know I can do much better. I know next round I’ll come harder,” Nixon said when talking about his performance. “We got to beat them (Cambridge), I lost last year and the year before that, at the same spot and I just want to get through that spot.”
