Salisbury City Council proclaims March Endometriosis Awareness Month

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury City Council has deemed March 2025 Endometriosis Awareness Month, recognizing the millions of women who suffer from this often complicated, and misunderstood disease.

Endometriosis is a condition affecting the lining of the uterus- that can cause severe pelvic pain, infertility, and other life-altering challenges. The proclamation was presented by Councilwoman Michele Gregory, as a call to action for Salisbury residents and healthcare professionals to create more supportive environments.

Salisbury Council President D’Shawn Doughty says it was an honor to be a part of this. “Of course, March is also Women’s History Month, and I serve on a council with a majority of women. And so, anytime these issues are highlighted, it’s up to us as individuals and of course, us stakeholders to underscore this. And so, no matter what’s going on, on the national level, our people are here, and we listen to them.”

The city would like to thank Shannon Hannawald of Endo Warriors of the Eastern Shore, for all her work in highlighting the awareness of this disease. If you would like more information, visit their website.
