Pennsylvania man arrested on assault charges stemming from crash
MILFORD, Del. – A Pennsylvania man was arrested on assault charges following a crash in Milford Tuesday afternoon.
At around 1 p.m., troopers were called to 793 Bay Road for a reported crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 50-year-old Milford man was driving southbound on Bay Road, near Jenkins Road, in a Honda Element. A Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by 45-year-old Jason Boyd, was following behind the Honda when he allegedly began tailgating, and in response, the driver of the Honda abruptly hit his brakes. This caused Boyd’s vehicle to hit the back of the Honda.
Both drivers pulled into the parking lot of I.G. Burton to assess the damage, and as the 50-year-old man got out of his car, Boyd reportedly pepper sprayed him.
The victim was treated for minor injuries.
Boyd was subsequently charged with second degree assault with a disabling chemical spray and expired registration, and was released on a $2,525 unsecured bond.
The 50-year-old man was also issued a citation for reckless driving.
