New Mural helps honor Cpl. Keith Heacook’s life

DELMAR, Md. – Family and friends of the late Corporal Keith Heacook honored his life, Wednesday afternoon in Delmar.

A mural of Heacook was unveiled right across the street from the police department. The artwork serves as a reminder to the community of the ultimate sacrifice Corporal Heacook made in April 2021, when he was violently killed by Randon Wilkerson in the line of duty.

Corporal Heacook’s niece, Alicia Feaster hopes the mural helps her uncle’s legacy continue to live on.

“Whenever they walk past, I just want them to think of him again and just think of what he did for this town, for everything that’s changed since it happened,” said Feaster. “I just want them to look at him and be like, ‘Yes. We’re all here for you. We still see you; you’re the reason for everything.”

The mural is located on the corner of South Pennsylvania Avenue and East East Street.
