Local Business owner aims to give her community an extraordinary Easter experience
DELMAR, Md. – Easter is coming soon, and in Delaware, one woman is celebrating with the children of the community, and she needs your help.
Easter Eggs
In years past, at Salisbury Park, a community Easter Egg Hunt was hosted by BryNae Planter of Owner Boss Lady Event. She says this started in 2020 with something she wanted to do for her 2 kids, but ultimately, ended up serving the entire community.
“We were having the event at the Salisbury City Park. First year, it was maybe like 75- 100 kids, then maybe the next year probably 100- 200 then the third year we almost had 5, probably more than 500 kids and people in attendance.”
Drive-Thru
Not only do they give away easter baskets, but they provide meals for families as well. Last year due to rain, they turned the Hunt into a drive-thru. That is when one parent helped her discover something.
“She said ‘ I love this event.’ She said that her son is autistic, and he can’t do big crowds, so she was just telling me like, ‘ This is dope’… So, this year I’m actually dedicating this year’s hunt to kids with special needs.”
Special Treat for Special Needs
And although anyone is welcome, this year she says is set up just for them. “You know some kids have autism or cerebral palsy or different conditions they can’t do the traditional Easter egg hunts.”
The event will take place on Saturday April 12 from 2-4 pm in Delmar, however, they are in dire need of donations. If you would like to help out, please contact 443-735-7945.
