Julie Giordano announces plans to run for 2nd Wicomico County Exec. term
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico County Executive, Julie Giordano announced her plans to run for another term.
While not all counties have an executive in Maryland, Giordano believes the position is necessary for maintaining checks and balances in our local government.
She said in her first term, she’s been able to work with the entire administration to push projects forward, and she’s hopeful that the community will recognize her efforts.
“The whole idea of having to prove myself, I think that part has subsided, and that part has sailed for me,” said Giordano. “People know me as the county executive. I can go out places, people recognize me, they know the good work we’ve done, and they see that. So having to prove myself as a worthy candidate, that part is done.”
Giordano said she hopes to finish the projects that were started when she took office.
“I hope to continue moving forward with the water and sewer plan; I hope to do the ribbon cutting with the library, because it won’t be done yet with this first term,” said Giordano.
