Good Morning Delmarva discusses United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s Over the Edge for Alice fundraiser

WMDT – The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) is hosting an adventurous fundraiser sure to get your adrenaline pumping while helping to support households that are under-served in the community.

President of UWLES, Pam Gregory, and events manager for the City of Salisbury, Caroline O’Hare, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to share how you can join in on the fun May 2nd.

Gregory says this is a great opportunity for thrill seekers to rappel down the side of The Ross building in downtown Salisbury!

It’s a family-friendly event that will also include a community block party.

Rappelling is open to anyone in the community that raises $1,080 which will go to their goal of reaching 80 thousand dollars in honor of their 80th anniversary.

They emphasize that this will be a safe event with training involved for everyone.

The money raised will help advance the Lower Shore in areas such as health education and financial security.

We’re told more than 2 in 5 local households are struggling to make ends meet so, this fundraiser will help give back to those that need a helping hand.
