Golden Knights softball shuts out Smyrna

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Sussex Central softball shutout Smyrna 3-0, Thursday evening at Del Tech Softball field in Georgetown.

Bottom 1: Ava Brock from Sussex Central will get a RBI bringing Karly Kruger home. Score 1-0 at the end of the first inning.

Bottom 3: Golden Knights strike again as sophomore Nakirha Copes gets two RBI as Kruger and Lauren Myers score.

Freshman Timora Hall stayed ahead in the count and did not walk any batters, making defensive plays in the field as well.

Coach John Wells reflected on Hall’s performance in the game, saying, “It starts in the circle. Timora just threw a whale of a game today. She stayed ahead in the count. She didn’t walk any batters. She went after the bigger hitters, and they have some good players, and was able to handle them. So, she and the pitching coach I thought were in tune today.”
