Emerging Leader: Jalen Gourrier

WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader.

Jalen Gourrier is the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s first exchange student at the University of Lorraine in France.

He’s a senior finance student who, we’re told, is already getting the hang of things in the city of Nancy.

Gourrier says this is his first time abroad and he is putting his all into immersing himself in the culture.

Jalen says that as a college athlete, studying abroad seemed like an unreachable dream but it was the faculty and his mentors at UMES that helped push him towards this opportunity.

His advice for other students interested in visiting another country is not to be afraid and to put yourself out there!
